you're going to buy into the Canon EOS system
don't cheap out on US$20 - get the infrared
remote - this thing is damn handy. If only
for poor excuses of self-portraiture like
this one.

I thought this was a very interesting boulder, just
sitting in the sun with a great deal of surface
texture. Unfortunately, somewhere between idea
and execution the whole photo was lost. But
I include it for posterity.
This is a somewhat small lake and a hill a couple of
kilometers north of Kylemore Abbey. If I'm
not mistaken it also made a very brief appearance
in an episode of "Lonley Planet" on the Travel
Channel (yeah, I'm a dork, but we already knew
that, correct?). Again, I relied on matrix
metering and it picked up the sky so the exposure
is off just a teensy bit (I'm being sarcastic).
